Pollo Campero Opens First Puerto Rican location in Caguas, Puerto Rico

Fresh, Famous Taste of Guatemala and 180 New Jobs

Headed for the Enchanted Island

Pollo Campero, the Latin restaurant leader beloved worldwide for its signature fried and grilled chicken and side dishes, today announced the opening of its first Pollo Campero in Puerto Rico. The new restaurant will open Feb. 20 at 301 Avenida Rafael Cordero, in Caguas, creating an estimated 180 new jobs for the Caguas community.

Local businessman and franchisee Christian Gándara who was recently recognized by the local government for creating new jobs, is eager to share Pollo Campero with his fellow Boricuas.

"Pollo Campero is a vibrant and respected brand around the world," said Gándara. "It gives me a great sense of pride to bring Pollo Campero's delicious food to our community."

Pollo Campero's generous portions of its marinated grilled and fried chicken are made fresh daily. The restaurant uses the same recipe and signature blend of high quality spices as it did when it first opened in Guatemala in 1971.

Other menu favorites that have made Pollo Campero a household name include crispy yucca fries, Campero beans, sandwiches and mango, tamarindo and guava flavored drinks. Puerto Rican customers will also be able to complement their meal with classic tostones, sorullitos, black beans and rice, and end their meal on a sweet note with a satisfying creamy flan or tres leches dessert.

The new restaurant will also feature extra customer service touches that guests may not find at similar restaurants.

"Pollo Campero is not another fast food restaurant. Once you order your food we go the extra mile to make sure your dining experience is superior. Our friendly staff will bring the food to your table and personally refill your drinks. It's the little touches that make the experience superior at Pollo Campero," explains Gándara.
