Pollo Campero Continues Growth, Brings Fifth Restaurant to New York

Latin Chicken Chain Opens New Restaurant in Central Islip

(DALLAS, Texas) March 27, 2014 - Pollo Campero, the Latin restaurant leader beloved worldwide for its signature flavors, today announced the opening of its newest restaurant coming to New York on March 27, 2014. Located at 160 Wheeler Road in Central Islip, N.Y., the new restaurant will create an estimated 25 jobs for the community.

"We are excited to continue our expansion throughout New York where we have such a large base of devoted Campero fans," said President and COO of Campero USA, Roberto Denegri. "We are honored to welcome Central Islip to the Campero family and look forward to sharing our famous Latin chicken that is loved around the world with the community."

Pollo Campero began as a small family restaurant in Guatemala. Today the restaurant chain has a global reach with locations throughout the United States, El Salvador, Spain and more. A favorite worldwide, its guests proudly stand in line at new locations and use social media to brag about eating at Pollo Campero on opening day.

"We consider ourselves very lucky to share such a strong bond with our guests. Our team always looks forward to the opening of a new store because as we reach more people, we hear more stories about their memories of the brand. It's not unusual to see parents bring their children to one of our U.S. locations and reminisce about the times their parents took them to Campero in their homeland," Denegri continues.

The new restaurant in Central Islip will be the fifth Pollo Campero restaurant in New York. The restaurants hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Pollo Campero is known worldwide for its unique Latin flavors and hand prepared fried and grilled chicken, made exactly the same way as when its first location opened in 1971 in Guatemala. The restaurant's distinctive menu includes fan favorites like fried plantains, yucca, empanadas and signature Latin desserts like flan and tres leches cake.
