We're not your typical chicken restaurant. At Pollo Campero, spice and seasonings are tasted throughout our chicken, not just on the outside. We offer a variety of chicken recipes: traditional hand-breaded, citrus grilled & very soon extra crispy. For pairings, we don't just serve sodas and tea, we serve Horchata, Jamaica and Tamarindo. Our sides are prepared in the kitchen, not a factory. Our warm, delicious food is brought directly to your table and served with real plates and silverware. Traditional hand-breaded or citrus grilled, we always start with fresh, all-natural chicken. Every piece of our famous traditional chicken is seasoned and prepared by hand for a golden, crispy, one-of-a-kind texture and taste. We also have the world's best recipe for grilled chicken, marinated to the bone and seasoned with a savory blend of citrus and herbs.
We opened the very first Pollo Campero in 1971 in Guatemala. It was, and still is, a family business - started by the Gutierrez family with one desire - to serve the best tasting chicken possible. To this day, Juan Jose Gutierrez, remains personally involved in ensuring our chicken is always fresh and flavorful, and the experience is always unforgettable.
In 2002, when we opened our first US Pollo Campero in Los Angeles, there were lines of people around the store, ready to enjoy our flavorful chicken. Today, we have more than 70 U.S. locations across the U.S. and there are more than 350 Pollo Campero restaurants around the world from Ecuador to Italy.
